I am running Illustrator CC on windows. But when i downloaded the software named setupsct.exe, it displays the software options with check boxes. but they are dimmed out. i cannot select the software version. the highest level of Illustrator displayed is CC 17 and CC 2014. i wonder if the software plug in is not compatible with the illustrator i am running now. i am running Illustrator 19.

Yes, it is possible that the software plug-in "Summa Cutter Tools" is not compatible with the Illustrator version you are currently running (Illustrator 19).
I am running Summa S140 D Series plotter and would like to be able to cut vinyl direct from Adobe Illustrator CS5. Can this be done and if so how can it be done? I have a Winplot programme but have never been able to get it to work.

The Summa Cutter plug-in is compatible with Adobe Illustrator CSX versions. Practically, all CS versions of Adobe Illustrator are compatible. As you can see in the image below, you can install the plug-in for all the Illustrator versions. In the second picture, you can see the install procedures and plug-ins availability. Choose Full Installation or manual installation and click on each of the Install buttons.
